FKTG

Association for Electronic Media

The FKTG is one of Germany's oldest professional technology associations, with roots tracing back to its founding by two predecessor organizations: the Deutsche Kinogesellschaft (DKG, German Cinema Technology Association) established in 1920, and the Fernsehtechnische Gesellschaft (FKT, Television Technology Association) founded in 1952. It serves as an information and communication network for all those working in the technical environment of the media industry.

The primary mission of the FKTG is to provide comprehensive information on advancements in television and cinema technology to engineers, scientists, technologists, strategists, and decision-makers involved in broadcasting, television, cinema, media distribution, and digital media. Additionally, FKTG serves as a key platform for the exchange of knowledge and expertise. In recent years, its scope has expanded to encompass the business and application aspects of the rapidly evolving digital media industry.

FKTG regularly organizes conferences and technology workshops across various regions, fostering professional development and knowledge-sharing. It also promotes scientific education and continuing education through a robust network of over 50 universities and advanced technical colleges in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

With nearly 85 international corporate supporters and approximately 1,100 individual members which are organized in 11 regional and national chapters, FKTG represents the largest network of its kind in the German-speaking region of Europe.

The FKTG-Journal is the digital member organ of the FKTG and is published four times a year as a digital edition.
